Respiratory Therapist – Travel Contract

Shift: 3×12-hour Day Shifts
Hours: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Contract Length: 417 weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic services to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions.

The Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide care in both critical and non-critical care settings and work with patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures according to physician orders
• Provide therapeutic treatments using medical gases, respiratory equipment, aerosols, humidification, and environmental control systems
• Administer medications to the cardiopulmonary system
• Provide ventilatory support and manage life-support systems
• Maintain and manage natural and artificial airways
• Perform bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises
• Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and treatment
• Provide respiratory care in both critical and non-critical care areas
• Care for patients of all ages
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Certifications & Credentials

• BLS
• Respiratory Therapist Skills competency/checklist
• Respiratory Therapy Exam
• Core Mandatory Allied/Non-Nursing Exam
• Core Mandatory Part I
• Core Mandatory Part II – Allied
• Core Mandatory Part III

Schedule

• 3×12-hour shifts per week
• 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• Every other weekend rotation

Candidate Requirements

• Respiratory Therapy / Respiratory Care experience
• Ability to work in both critical and non-critical care environments
• Strong knowledge of ventilatory support and airway management
• Ability to care for patients across different age groups
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills
