We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Neurosurgery to provide care for adult patients undergoing pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal procedures, as well as general neurology and stroke patients.

The RN will provide comprehensive patient care, administer medications, monitor neurological and cardiac status, manage IV therapy and surgical drains, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical and neurosurgery patients.
• Care for pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients.
• Monitor neurological status and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications, including heparin, as ordered.
• Manage peripheral IV lines and provide IV therapy.
• Care for surgical and intermittently drained lumbar drains.
• Monitor and document patient care accurately in EPIC.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Requirements

• Active RN license; pending license accepted.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Recent Medical-Surgical/Neurosurgery experience required.
• ACLS, BLS/BCLS, and NIHSS required.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• EPIC experience preferred.
• Must pass the facility's Relias EKG exam.
• Travel experience is not required.
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted.
