Vascular Access Tech – Rochester, MN
Location: Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester, MN
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Evening
Schedule: Every other weekend; holiday coverage as needed
Job Summary:
Responsible for collecting quality blood specimens from patients of all ages using venous, capillary, assisted line, and arterial collection techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform phlebotomy and blood specimen collections.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, specimen labeling, handling, and transportation.
- Perform Point-of-Care (POC) testing as required.
- Work across inpatient units, ED, ICU, Pediatrics, and OR.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond to emergencies and assist with training new staff.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED.
- 2+ Years of phlebotomy experience.
- National Phlebotomy Certification (NHA, ASCP, etc.)
- Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and critical-thinking skills.
