Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional/Medical Surgical to provide patient care in a correctional healthcare setting. The RN will care for adult patients, perform assessments, administer medications, provide medical-surgical nursing care, and support safe and effective patient treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a correctional setting.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Administer medications with a high focus on accurate scanning and documentation.
• Provide Med/Surg nursing care and manage peripheral IVs.
• Provide oxygen and non-invasive respiratory support as needed.
• Perform wound care and follow isolation/PPE procedures.
• Monitor patients and respond to urgent or emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner.
• Float between Cook County facilities as required based on operational needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe patient care.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care Med/Surg experience.
• Correctional nursing experience required.
• BLS required.
• Cerner experience required.
• Strong medication administration and documentation skills.
• Pending licenses not accepted.
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius.
