We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient Med/Surg setting. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Assignment Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
• Location: Arcata, California
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Pay: $85/hour
• License: Active California RN License required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Provide nursing care to adult medical and post-surgical patients.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered.
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and patient responses to treatment.
• Develop and follow individualized nursing care plans.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Promote patient safety and follow infection-control and hospital policies.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.

Requirements

• Active California RN License.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Proof of a negative TB screen completed within 12 months of the contract start date.
• Medical-Surgical/acute-care nursing experience preferred.
