Position Overview

The Registered Nurse – Perinatal Services provides professional nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.

The RN will coordinate, manage, provide, and delegate patient care while maintaining established nursing standards and promoting effective collaboration among the healthcare team. This position is represented by CNA.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Provide safe and effective nursing care to perinatal patients
• Coordinate and manage patient care activities
• Delegate appropriate patient-care responsibilities
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain established Standards of Nursing Practice
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC
• Support patient and family needs throughout the perinatal care process

Requirements

Experience & Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing – Required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience – Required
• 2 years of experience preferred/required for the assignment
• LDRP experience
• EPIC experience – Required

Licensure

• Active RN License in the state of practice – Required

Required Certifications

• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• NRP – Required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring – Required
  • Required upon hire and every 2 years for experienced nurses
  • New/novice L&D RNs complete the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring course during the first 6–8 months of L&D orientation, followed by Advanced Fetal Monitoring every 2 years

Accepted Certifications:

• AHA-BLS or approved equivalent
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS
• AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS
