Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required; no exceptions.
• Recent Epic experience is required.
• DE or Compact RN License must be in hand.
• RN license number and expiration date required.
• All certifications must be listed with expiration dates.
• Maximum 3 days of RTO at initial submission.
• All RTO must be submitted with the initial profile. Additional RTO requests after submission will not be considered or approved.
• Auto Offer – PCU List C.

Assignment Details

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Floating: Required to areas within the nurse's acuity/competency
• Local Radius: 50-mile rule applies

Overtime Policy

Travel RNs are not authorized to work overtime at this time. Overtime must not be picked up or worked without an approved exception from ChristianaCare.

Incidental Overtime

Travel RNs are also not authorized to accumulate incidental overtime, and incidental OT will not be approved.

End-of-Shift Events

If a travel RN is involved in a code, Rapid Response Team (RRT) event, or other significant event near or at the end of the shift, the RN should provide a timely handoff to the charge nurse or oncoming nurse. Please communicate any outstanding tasks or information that may not be readily apparent in the EMR.

Travel RNs should work with the Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), or Nurse Manager (NM) when assistance is needed to facilitate a timely end to the shift.

Meal Breaks

All staff are expected to take their assigned meal break. Travel RNs are not authorized to accumulate or carry over missed meal-break time, and such time will not be approved by Christiana Care.

Please coordinate with the Charge RN, ANM, or NM if assistance is needed to ensure the meal break is taken as scheduled.

Procedural Area Exception

The only exception to the overtime restrictions applies to certain procedural areas with scheduled or on-call procedures. Additional time may be necessary depending on staffing needs, maintaining procedural schedules, or emergent cases.
