Description

Ultrasound Technologist – Travel Assignment

  • Location: Union Gap, WA
  • Facility: Free-Standing Emergency Department
  • Address: 38 Adelyn Way, Union Gap, WA 98905
  • Specialty: Ultrasound Technologist
  • Shift: 12-hour Nights
  • Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Contract: 89 weeks
  • Travel Program: SimpliFi Travel

Facility Overview

This is a 10-bed free-standing Emergency Department with an average census of approximately 10 patients per shift.

Patient Population

  • Primarily adult ER patients
  • Pediatric patients may also be seen
  • Common studies include:
    • OB/GYN
    • General
    • Abdominal
    • Vascular

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
  • First-time travelers are not accepted, unless they have 5+ years of experience
  • ARDMS – OB and ABD required
  • RVT preferred
  • BLS required
  • Must be comfortable working independently, as the Ultrasound Technologist will be the only US Tech on site

Required Skills

  • General ultrasound scanning
  • Vascular studies, including:
    • DVT studies
    • Arterial studies
  • OB/GYN studies:
    • 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester
    • Size and dates
    • Biophysical profile (BPP)
    • 2nd and 3rd trimester patients may be redirected when appropriate
  • General abdomen
  • Pelvic
  • Testicular
  • Other ER ultrasound studies as required

Department Support

  • ER RNs
  • ER Providers
  • Radiologic Technologists
  • Radiologist available off site
  • Manager/Supervisor available by phone

Technology & Equipment

  • EMR: Epic
  • PACS: Philips View
  • Ultrasound Equipment: GE Logiq P9

Floating

  • Rare
  • May float to Yakima Hospital if required

Orientation

  • NEO orientation: 2–5 days
  • Night-shift travelers will complete orientation during day shifts

Scheduling & Call

  • Mostly set schedule
  • Weekend rotation depends on requisition
  • On-call required:
    • 1 weeknight call per week: 10:30 PM–following morning
    • 1 weekend call per month: Friday night–Monday morning
  • If working the weekend night schedule, the traveler will not take weekend call and will only take 1 weeknight call shift per week
  • 30-minute response time required for call
  • Holidays: If a holiday falls on the traveler's regularly scheduled workday, they are expected to work
  • RTO: Up to 3 days may be approved

  • Scrubs: Any solid color; no graphics, logos or designs
  • Parking: Free
  • Census: Approximately 10 patients per shift
  • Special Requirement: Must be comfortable working independently/solo
