Description
Labor & Delivery RN – Show Low, AZ
Shift: 12H Nights, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 contract weeks available)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP | Orientation: Every Monday
Cancellation Policy: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Facility Details:
- Trauma Level: III
- Care Setting: Acute
- Charting System: Allscripts
- 7 L&D beds, 2 triage beds, 10 postpartum beds
- 1–3 births per day, ~830 births/year
- Ratios: 1:2
- No in-house OB/Neonatologist — RNs must be highly proficient in assessment and handling OB emergencies until provider arrives
- Respiratory Therapist in unit 24/7; 24/7 in-house pharmacy
- Support staff: Patient Care Technician, Health Unit Secretary, OB scrub tech, HUC
- May float to ED or MedSurg (if experienced)
- Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care (LDRP beds used as needed during low census)
- BSN not required
Weekend/Call:
- Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Call: one shift per 4-week schedule
Requirements:
- 2–3+ years of experience required
- C-section experience required
- Active ACLS, BLS, NRP required
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN AFM) required
- Proficient in fetal monitoring and response to fetal distress
- Experience caring for high-risk patients, including pre-eclampsia
- License to Submit: Yes
