Title: Clinical Lab Scientist – Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital

Location: Fortuna, CA 95540

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Night | 4x10s | 8:00 PM–6:00 AM

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Laboratory Scientist experience
• California State License required
• ASCP / ASCP-MLS / ASCP-MT / CLS certification accepted
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Medical Laboratory Scientist/CLS only – Medical Lab Technicians are not accepted
• Must be comfortable working independently as the only CLS on duty per shift
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Must provide all RTO/scheduling requests upfront during submission

Description:

• Perform generalist laboratory duties in an acute-care laboratory supporting a 25-bed hospital with a 9-bed ER.
• Perform testing across Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Immunology/Serology, and Microbiology, including CBC, blood gases, cardiac enzymes, immunoassays, Gram stains, PCR testing, and urinalysis.
• Handle Blood Bank procedures including ABO/Rh, antibody screening and identification, AHG crossmatch, DAT, electronic/IS/full crossmatch, transfusion reaction workups, and blood product handling.
• Perform specimen processing, accessioning, pipetting, collection, receipt, transport, and result reporting while maintaining quality assurance, proper labeling, safety, and infection-control standards.
• Work with laboratory equipment including Siemens Vista, Sysmex XN 500, Radiometer ABL90, Stago Compact Max, Siemens Clinitek Advantus, BioFire, Roche Liat, and Wellsky/Epic Beaker Blood Bank.
