🫀 ICU Experience & Clinical Environment

This is a great fit for an ICU RN with strong cardiovascular and critical-care experience, particularly nurses who have worked with open-heart surgery patients and IABP/balloon pump management.

The unit has:

• 28 beds / 28 rooms
• Average daily census of approximately 24 patients
• Typical staffing ratio of 1 RN : 2 patients
• Multidisciplinary support including Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Radiology, PT, Social Services, Phlebotomy, Rapid Response, Lift Teams, Transportation, and Unit Secretaries 

📋 Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2 years of ICU experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Strong cardiovascular/critical-care background
• Cardiac/open-heart experience required
• IABP/balloon pump experience required
• Comfortable with 1:2 ICU ratios
• Able to work nights and every other weekend 

🩺 Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS/NIH
• VIP, MAB, or CPI certification — in-person course only 

💉 Required Clinical Skills

Candidates should be confident with:

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Arterial line management
• Central line and PICC management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Blood product administration
• IV insulin protocols
• Care of ventilated patients
• ABG interpretation
• ETT/NT suctioning
• Cardiovascular monitoring and emergency response 

⭐ Valuable Advanced ICU Experience

Experience with the following is especially relevant:

• IABP
• Post-cardiac surgery care
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and interventions
• Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring
• TAVR  
• Sheath removal
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• Continuous sedation and neuromuscular blockade
• BiPAP/CPAP  
• HFNC  
• Acute/chronic renal failure and hemodialysis management
• Neuro/trauma ICU care
• EVD and ICP monitoring
• Multisystem organ dysfunction/failure 

📊 Telemetry & EKG Requirement

Telemetry interpretation skills are required.

Before starting:

• Must successfully complete the Relias EKG exam
• Must pass the onsite EKG competency 

🗓️ Important RTO Requirements

• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission.
• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Once RTO is submitted, dates cannot be added or changed; only cancellation of previously requested time off is permitted.
• Please confirm all required time off for the full contract before submission.

💉 Vaccine Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination is not required per facility guideline.
• Flu vaccination is required, with medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed.
