Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts / 36 hours per week
Contract: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 48 GWWB
Pay Rate: $90/hour
License: RN – Compact accepted
Experience: 2 years

Required

• Active RN license; Compact accepted
• BLS certification
• 2 years of experience
• Strong oncology background
• Phlebotomy skills
• Oncology nursing skills
• Medical-Surgical nursing skills
• Telemetry skills
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Ability to analyze cardiac rhythms
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance
• Must pass Pharmacology exam during compliance
• 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• 3 out of 4 holidays

Clinical Skills

• Chemotherapy administration
• Continuous infusion medication management
• Pain management
• Wound VAC and dressing changes
• Wound drains
• Central lines
• Tracheotomy patients
• Chest tubes
• IV starts
• Peripheral lab draws
• Arterial blood draws
• Cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Cardiac monitoring

Unit Information

• 48-bed unit
• RN-to-patient ratio: 1:4; may increase to 1:5–1:6 based on need
• Nursing Assistant ratio: 1:8
• Primary population includes adult hematologic and oncologic patients, immunocompromised patients, radiation complications, cardiac arrhythmias, and patients requiring complex fluid and medication management
• Ancillary staff available
• Self-scheduling
• Nurses independently analyze cardiac rhythms; the unit is not monitored by monitor technicians
