We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to provide high-quality maternal and newborn care in a Magnet-designated acute care hospital. The RN will care for patients throughout labor and delivery, monitor maternal and fetal status, assist with obstetric procedures, and support patients and families throughout the birthing process.

The RN must be experienced in L&D, comfortable performing sterile vaginal examinations, and able to circulate for operative procedures/C-sections.

• Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Hospital: Acute Care, Magnet-designated
• Staffed Beds: 426
• EMR: Epic
• Parking: Free
• Scrubs: Navy blue for RNs; L&D/OR scrubs provided

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate throughout labor.
• Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments.
• Perform sterile vaginal/cervical examinations to assess labor progression.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as ordered.
• Identify and respond appropriately to maternal and fetal complications.
• Assist physicians and the healthcare team during vaginal and operative deliveries.
• Circulate during C-sections and other L&D/OR procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and follow surgical safety protocols.
• Assist with emergency obstetric situations and rapid changes in patient condition.
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support.
• Promote safe, evidence-based maternity care.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in Epic.
• Collaborate with OB providers, anesthesia, nursery/newborn teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience – HARD STOP.
• Previous travel nursing experience – HARD STOP.
• Must be comfortable working in a large hospital setting; experience in a large hospital is highly preferred.
• Must be able to circulate.
• Must be able to perform sterile vaginal examinations.
• Active RN license required; pending license not accepted.

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate

AWHONN Advanced: Preferred

Traveler Requirements

• First-time travelers are not accepted.
• Travel pairs are not accepted.
• Candidate must be flexible with weekend scheduling; weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend based on unit needs.
• Scheduling requests related to outside employment will not be considered.
• All RTO must be submitted at the time of profile submission.
• Facility may call off the RN once per pay period (every two weeks).
