We are seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) to support surgical procedures in a short-term acute care hospital. The Surgical Technologist will work directly with surgeons, nurses, and the surgical team to prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, and provide instruments and supplies throughout surgical procedures.

Previous travel experience is required, and NBSTSA certification is required. Experience with endovascular procedures is preferred, with approximately two years of endovascular experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for scheduled and emergency surgical procedures.
• Set up sterile instruments, supplies, and surgical equipment.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical team members.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures.
• Perform surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation.
• Handle specimens according to hospital policy.
• Assist with surgical room turnover and equipment preparation.
• Ensure instruments and supplies are available and properly prepared.
• Follow infection-control, sterile technique, and surgical safety standards.
• Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia staff, and other members of the surgical team.
• Provide support during endovascular procedures when assigned.

Requirements

• Previous Travel Surgical Technologist experience required.
• NBSTSA certification required.
• Previous Surgical Technologist/OR experience.
• 2 years of Endovascular experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable working independently in the OR.
• Must be available for weekend work.
• Must be available for scheduled call requirements.
