The ideal Echo Tech is an experienced cardiac sonographer who can independently perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiograms with minimal supervision. The technologist should be comfortable working with patients across varying levels of acuity, including ICU and emergency patients, and be able to recognize significant cardiac abnormalities and escalate findings appropriately.
