Description

Position: Pathologists’ Assistant

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Contract
Hours/Week: 40
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; flexible mornings or evenings, Monday-Friday and/or weekends

Requirements:

NY DOH Pathologists’ Assistant License
Minimum 2 years of Pathologists’ Assistant experience
Experience grossing specimens/biopsies

Preferred:

ASCP Certification
Frozen section coverage experience

Facility Details:

Approximately 200 cases per day
Epic & Cerner Millennium EMR systems

Responsibilities:

Select and identify tissue for microscopic examination
Describe, measure, and dictate gross findings using appropriate terminology
Determine proper fixation and decalcification procedures
Photograph specimens as needed for documentation
Gross specimens and biopsies
