Nursing Home Administrator – Job Details

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in:
  • Health Care Administration
  • Long-Term Care Administration

  • Related field
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Unencumbered Colorado Nursing Home Administrator license required.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in:
  • Skilled nursing
  • Long-term care
  • Older adult services
  • Healthcare operations
• 5+ years preferred.
• Experience preferred in:
  • Nursing home administration
  • Regulatory survey readiness
  • Personnel management
  • Quality improvement
  • Resident/family relations
  • Budget management
  • Strategic and operational planning

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and delivery of high-quality skilled nursing services.
• Ensure safe, person-centered, trauma-informed, and dignity-preserving resident care.
• Manage admission, discharge, transfer, and care transition processes.
• Serve as the licensed Nursing Home Administrator for DOAK Skilled Nursing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead survey readiness, plans of correction, and regulatory follow-up.
• Recruit, coach, support, and lead skilled nursing staff.
• Partner with HR and department leaders on hiring, onboarding, retention, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Oversee staffing and scheduling practices to support resident safety and continuity of care.
• Lead and support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Analyze resident feedback, incidents, survey results, staffing data, and quality indicators to identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with residents and families and address concerns and grievances.
• Participate in developing and managing the skilled nursing operating budget.
• Monitor staffing costs, supplies, census, occupancy, payer mix, and other operational metrics.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, supplies, equipment, and major purchases.
• Collaborate with Casey's Pond departments to support a seamless continuum of care.
• Serve as a liaison between skilled nursing leadership, residents, families, regulators, community partners, and agency leadership.
• Promote a culture of excellence, compassion, accountability, collaboration, and respect.

Reporting & Supervision

• Reports To: Senior Director of Casey's Pond
• Additional Reporting: Governing Board of Directors
• Supervises: DOAK Skilled Nursing staff and department leadership, including the Director of Nursing and other assigned staff.

Working Conditions

• Work in a well-lit, accessible office and skilled nursing facility environment.
• Position involves sitting, walking, standing, and moving throughout resident care areas.
• Patient-facing position with regular interaction with residents and their families.
• May require additional training, immunizations, and use of PPE due to healthcare exposure.
