Traveler Registered Nurse – Cardiac ICU

We are seeking a highly skilled Traveler Registered Nurse with Cardiac ICU experience to provide safe, high-quality care to critically ill cardiac patients. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while managing high-acuity cardiac conditions and advanced cardiac monitoring in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies.

The ideal candidate must have experience caring for high-acuity cardiac patients, managing complex cardiac devices, and performing or interpreting invasive hemodynamic monitoring, including monitoring through a Swan-Ganz catheter.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients using the nursing process.
• Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Monitor and manage high-acuity cardiac patients and recognize changes in clinical condition.
• Care for patients requiring advanced cardiac devices and complex cardiac therapies.
• Perform and monitor invasive hemodynamic assessments, including Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring.
• Interpret relevant hemodynamic and clinical data and communicate significant changes promptly.
• Prioritize nursing interventions based on patient acuity and clinical needs.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in rapidly changing critical-care situations.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
• Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Provide patient and family education and assist with discharge planning when appropriate.
• Make timely referrals and coordinate care with appropriate healthcare disciplines.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, mandatory education, and unit-based initiatives.
• Complete required clinical documentation and variance reports accurately.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a nursing diploma or degree.
• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Cardiac ICU experience required.
• Experience caring for high-acuity cardiac patients and complex cardiac devices required.
• Experience with invasive cardiac/hemodynamic monitoring using a Swan-Ganz catheter required.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize care in a high-acuity critical-care environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail when interpreting clinical and numerical data.
