We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Sonographer to perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations in an acute hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong adult, pediatric, neonatal, OB/GYN, abdominal, superficial, and vascular ultrasound experience and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and department protocols.
• Perform abdominal studies including:
  • Aorta and IVC
  • Liver and biliary system
  • Pancreas
  • Spleen
  • Renal/kidney studies
  • Normal and pathological findings
• Perform GYN examinations including:
  • Uterus
  • Ovaries and adnexa
  • Pelvis
  • Breast
  • Transvaginal studies
  • Normal and pathological findings
  • Adult, pediatric, and post-menopausal patients
• Perform comprehensive OB studies across the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters, including:
  • Gestational age assessment
  • Biophysical profiles
  • Placental grading
  • Fetal abnormalities
  • IUGR assessment
  • OB complications
  • Uterus and adnexa
  • Amniocentesis support
• Perform neonatal ultrasound examinations, including evaluation for congenital abnormalities and neonatal head studies.
• Perform superficial structure examinations including:
  • Thyroid
  • Breast
  • Abdominal wall
  • Focal masses
  • Hematomas
  • Scrotum and testes
• Perform vascular studies including:
  • Carotid duplex
  • Upper and lower extremity venous duplex
  • Upper and lower extremity arterial duplex
  • Segmental pressure studies
• Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures including aspirations, biopsies, drainage procedures, and intraoperative imaging.
• Recognize normal and abnormal anatomy and obtain appropriate diagnostic images for interpretation.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, documentation, image labeling, and exam completion.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and comfort throughout examinations.
• Work with Canon i700 ultrasound equipment, Meditech EMR, and Fuji Synapse PACS.
• Float to other units/departments as required.
• Participate in call coverage when appropriate.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of full-time Sonographer experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting
• At least one previous contract/travel assignment
• ARDMS – Abdomen (AB)
• ARDMS – OB/GYN (OB)
• RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist
• Active AHA BLS certification
• Strong experience across abdominal, OB/GYN, neonatal, pediatric, superficial, and vascular ultrasound.
• Ability to work independently and manage a broad range of examinations in an acute-care environment.
