School Registered Nurse (RN) – Tacoma, WA
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff!
PediaStaff is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a school-based opportunity in the Tacoma, WA area. This position is ideal for an RN with previous school experience who is comfortable supporting medically fragile students and providing care across a variety of school settings.
Position Details
- Pay: $50–$55 per hour
- Location: Tacoma, WA area – specific placement available during the interview process
- Setting: School-based
- In-person position
- Local candidates preferred
- Position may float between multiple school sites based on student and district needs
Qualifications
- Active Washington Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
- Previous experience supporting students in a school setting required
- Must be highly flexible and comfortable working across different school environments
- Experience supporting medically fragile students preferred
- Ability to meet Washington State background and clearance requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students with a variety of medical needs
- Support medically fragile students, including students requiring ventilator and tracheostomy care
- Provide coverage in school health rooms as needed
- Float between school sites and campus locations based on daily needs
- Administer medications and prescribed treatments according to student health plans and physician orders
- Monitor students for changes in medical status and respond appropriately
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Collaborate with families, school staff, healthcare providers, and other members of the educational team
- Respond appropriately to student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies
Base Access Requirements
Some assignments may be located on a military base. Candidates must be able to obtain base access and will need:
- REAL ID, Washington Enhanced Driver License/ID, or passport
- Current vehicle registration
- Current vehicle insurance
- Reliable access to a vehicle
- Ability to personally drive onto the base
