Job Description:

Position: Surgical Technologist

Location: New Bedford, Massachusetts

Setting: Acute Care Hospital Operating Room

Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Mix of 5x8s and 4x10s day shifts
• On-call rotation required
• 4-5 call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Weeknight and weekend call rotation

Travel Pay Package:

• $2,209 per week total. Includes base pay, housing, meals and incidentals

Local Pay Package:

• $1,960 per week total

Overview:

• Work in a 14-OR suite acute care hospital
• Assist with surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties
• Maintain sterile fields and prepare surgical instruments and equipment
• Support surgeons and operating room staff throughout procedures
• Utilize advanced surgical technology including Davinci Robot and Neuro 7D systems
• Provide care for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Work within a fast-paced surgical services environment

• 1:1 patient ratio
• Facility provides 24-hour feedback on submissions
• Southcoast may cancel up to one shift length per 4-week period for low census
• Biweekly orientation schedule

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience required
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
• Must be certified
• Experience with General Surgery required
• Experience with GYN required
• Experience with ENT required
• Experience with Orthopedic Surgery required
• Experience with Neurosurgery required
• Experience with Plastics required
• Experience with GU/Urology required
• Experience with Thoracic Surgery required
• Experience with Vascular Surgery required
• Experience with Endovascular procedures required
• Experience with Trauma Level II services required
• EPIC experience preferred
