Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Telemetry Registered Nurses (RNs) for a long-term contract opportunity on a 33-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit.

The ideal candidate will have strong Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience, recent charge nurse experience, and the confidence to take charge during assigned shifts. Candidates should be comfortable caring for cardiac patients in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership, and teamwork skills.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and changes in patient condition.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in cardiac and clinical status.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Start, manage, and maintain IV lines.
• Perform phlebotomy/blood draws as required.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned.
• Coordinate patient assignments, workflow, admissions, breaks, and other shift responsibilities.
• Maintain patient safety and ensure compliance with clinical policies.
• Float to other units as required and within scope of practice.

Charge Nurse Responsibilities

Candidates must have 2+ years of recent charge experience and be comfortable taking charge during a shift.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assigning patients based on acuity and staff competency.
• Coordinating admissions and patient flow.
• Supporting staff with clinical concerns and workflow.
• Communicating with nursing leadership and other departments.
• Coordinating breaks and meal coverage.
• Monitoring unit operations and patient safety.
• Supporting efficient shift-to-shift transitions.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Charge Nurse experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIH certification required.
• Recent Epic experience within the last 12 months; the resume must clearly identify where Epic was used for each applicable position.
• Recent phlebotomy/blood-drawing experience within the last 12 months.
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program through ACEN or CCNE.
• Strong cardiac telemetry and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability and willingness to float.
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

Unit Details

• 33-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: approximately 1:5–6
• Cardiac and telemetry-focused patient population
• Fast-paced clinical environment
• Charge Nurse responsibilities required
• Floating is required

Assignment Requirements

• Interview required.
• Candidates must provide available interview dates and times at submission.
• RTO must be submitted at the time of initial submission.
• Maximum 7 days of RTO accepted.
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
• RTO submitted after initial submission will not be accepted.
• Block schedules may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays.
• Solid black scrubs required.
• Floating is required.

Credentialing & Compliance

Selected candidates may be required to complete facility-specific:

• Nursing competency and skills assessments
• EKG/Telemetry assessment
• Pharmacology assessment
• License and certification verification
• Education verification
• Drug screening and background checks
• Health screening and immunization requirements
• Facility onboarding and compliance documentation
