We’re hiring an experienced Acute Care RN for a brand-new Admissions Pending Unit (APU) at an award-winning Level II Trauma Center in Topeka, KS!

📅 Assignment Details

• Start Date: 10/05/2026 or 10/12/2026 — Firm
• Length: 26 weeks ONLY
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Hours: 36 hrs/week
• Call: None
• Holidays: Required as needed
• Floating: May be required to other units
• OT: Billable after 48 hours
• EMR: Epic
• 48-hour contracts: Not currently available
• First-time travelers: Not accepted

🩺 About the Admissions Pending Unit

The APU is focused on rapid patient throughput, with an ideal length of stay of 4 hours or less.

RNs will be responsible for:

• Initiating admission orders
• Completing the admission navigator
• Performing and documenting initial admission assessments
• Managing a wide variety of acute-care diagnoses
• Supporting efficient patient progression through the admission process

⭐ Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for an RN who:

• Is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume acute-care environment
• Can work independently with minimal oversight
• Has strong clinical judgment and time-management skills
• Adapts quickly to changing patient needs
• Has experience managing cardiac and anticoagulant drips, such as Cardizem and Heparin
• Is flexible and comfortable floating when needed

📋 Requirements

• BLS – AHA required
• ACLS – AHA required
• Kansas RN license or Compact/Multi-State license required
• No pending licenses or certifications accepted
• All required licenses/certifications must be active at time of submission
• No license hits — no exceptions
• No first-time travelers
