Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Cath/IR Registered Nurse with hands-on experience in both the cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology. Candidates with IR-only experience will not be considered.

Cath/IR RNs care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, as well as IR procedures such as drain and tube placements, biopsies, kyphoplasty, and related interventions.

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Schedule: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Approximately 8–10 call shifts per month
• Includes approximately 1–2 weekend call shifts per month, depending on scheduling
• Please keep requested time off close to one week

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Previous experience in both:
  • Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Interventional Radiology
• Cath Lab experience is required; IR-only experience is not accepted
• EPIC experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS
• Mandatory competency in:
  • Phlebotomy
  • Peripheral IV placement
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• No local candidates within a 75-mile radius

• Interventional cardiac catheterization
• Diagnostic catheterization in adults
• Left and right heart catheterization
• Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)
• Angioplasty
• Cardiac stent placement
• IABP placement and removal
• Impella insertion
• Pacemaker and defibrillator lead extraction/removal
• Pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Management of dysrhythmias and antiarrhythmic medications

Interventional Radiology

• Gastrostomy tube placement
• Liver and lung biopsy
• Paracentesis
• Chest tube placement
• Nephrostomy
• Renal and pulmonary angiography
• Renal artery stent placement
• Hepatic angiography
• Embolization, including pulmonary and uterine artery embolization
• Central venous access and PICC placement
• Port placement and maintenance
• SVC/IVC venography
• Upper and lower extremity angiography
• Dialysis graft creation, revision, and intervention
• Endovascular interventions
• Stent graft placement
