Travel Cath Lab Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a travel assignment at a STEMI-receiving acute care facility. The department operates 5 procedure suites and performs a wide range of cardiac, vascular, peripheral, IR, neuro-interventional, and EP procedures.

Travelers must have current Cath Lab experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Schedule & Call

• 10-hour day shifts; facility is also willing to consider 12-hour shifts.
• 40 hours guaranteed per week.
• Call rotation approximately 1× per week for inpatient and emergent cases.
• 1 weekend of call per month, typically Friday evening through Monday morning.
• Block scheduling may be available, including Friday–Sunday blocks.
• Schedule and call requirements may vary based on department needs.

Cath Lab Responsibilities

• Cases are typically staffed with 2 technologists:
  • 1 technologist scrubs.
  • 1 technologist monitors hemodynamics and related procedural functions.
• RN staff administer conscious/moderate sedation.
• A fourth team member may be added depending on the case and may be an RN or technologist.
• A Lead Tech is responsible for room assignments.
• Must be comfortable with:
  • Conscious and moderate sedation
  • Procedural processes
  • Airway management
  • Cardiac drips, including Integrilin, dopamine, and vasopressors
  • Intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP)

Procedures & Clinical Experience

Experience with:

• Cardiac/coronary procedures
• STEMI/emergency cardiac cases
• Vascular procedures
• Peripheral interventions
• General interventional radiology
• Neuro-interventional procedures
• EP procedures

Department Setup

5 total suites:

• 2 suites primarily dedicated to coronary cases
• 1 peripheral suite
• 1 vascular & neuro-interventional suite
• 1 EP suite

Average volume: Approximately 10–22 cases per day total, depending on department needs.

Required Qualifications

• ARRT
• Fluoroscopy certification
• BLS
• Current Cath Lab experience required
• Must be comfortable with the clinical skills and procedures listed above
• RCIS and CCT certifications will NOT be accepted
• BSN not required
• License must be available for submission
