Position: Operating Room RN
Facility: Iowa Methodist Medical Center / Iowa Lutheran
Shift Options:

• 5×8s: Mon–Fri, 12:30 PM–9:00 PM
• 4×10s: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, 10:30 AM–9:00 PM
• 40 hrs/week
• Contract:  13 weeks
• Weekend Call: One overnight/week + 3 weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call: Friday after shift through Monday 6:30 AM
• OT: 1.15× holiday; OT billable after 40 hrs (36–40 standard)

🚨 Must-Haves

• 24 months current OR experience
• Circulating OR experience required
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience with:
  • General
  • Da Vinci Robotics
  • Pediatrics
  • Trauma
• EPIC experience within the last 3 years
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Not a first-time traveler — must have completed a travel assignment within the last 15 months
• Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license
• BLS – AHA/ARC
• Must be willing to float across all campuses

• Vascular
• Orthopedic scrubbing

Unit Details

• 16 OR suites, typically 12–14 running
• Level I Trauma Center
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Approx. 35–50 cases/day
• Turnover expectation: <20 minutes
• 3 Da Vinci robots
• Stealth neuro-navigation
• Primarily Synthes/Stryker for ortho trauma
• Scrub or circulate, with both preferred
• Service lines include cardiac/PV, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, gyn, uro, general, pediatrics and transplants.
  
  Submission Requirements
• Resume showing 24 months current OR experience
• OR-specific skills checklist
• Active IA/Compact license on Nursys
• Driver's license
• BLS
• Professional reference/evaluation from the last 24 months preferred
• No locals: candidate must live 50+ miles from facility based on driver's license
• Former UPH FTE/PRN employees have additional separation restrictions.
