Job Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room
Location: New Albany, Indiana
Department: Surgical Services

 

Schedule

• 1st Shift
• 3x12s
• 6:30 AM–6:30 PM
• 36 hours/week
• 4–5 overnight calls per 6-week schedule
• 3–4 evening calls (7 PM–11 PM) per schedule period 

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes.
• Administer treatments and procedures within RN scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and treatment.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge activities.
• Delegate and supervise patient-care activities appropriately.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and patient-safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team. 

Requirements

• ADN or ASN required
• Active, unrestricted RN license in applicable state
• BLS required
• Previous nursing experience preferred; no experience required
• Strong communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and patient-safety skills
• Ability to work with computer systems/applications
