We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Labor & Delivery Director to lead our Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby services. The Director will oversee daily unit operations, support clinical staff, ensure quality patient care, and work closely with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective care for women and newborns.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership and clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and staff development.

L&D Director Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby unit operations.
• Supervise, support, and develop nursing and support staff while promoting a collaborative work environment.
• Ensure safe, high-quality care for patients throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and labor progress and ensure appropriate clinical standards and protocols are followed.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care and delivery services.
• Support the management of normal and high-risk pregnancies, labor complications, and emergency situations.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, workflow, and daily operational needs of the unit.
• Promote staff education, competency, performance improvement, and professional development.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help maintain positive patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Unit Overview:

• 3 Labor Suites
• 7 Mother/Baby Rooms
• 14 Registered Nurses (RNs)
• 3 Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
• 2 Nurse Technicians

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a RN
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a director
• Fetal Heart Monitoring – Stable
• NRP – Required
• ACLS – Required
• BLS – Required
• Strong Labor & Delivery clinical and leadership experience
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-management skills

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
