Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to PCU/step-down patients with complex acute-care needs.
- Care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, alcohol withdrawal, and renal failure diagnoses.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and collaborate with monitor technicians.
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient responses.
- Manage and monitor Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone drips; minimal titration required.
- Monitor patients receiving CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately.
- Collaborate with physicians, RT, nursing assistants, and other members of the care team.
- Float when required, primarily to ICU or Med/Surg.
- Maintain accurate documentation in MEDITECH.
- Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection control, and quality care.
Requirements / Must-Haves
Active RN license required to submit
ACLS
BLS
NIHSS
Acute-care experience
Cardiac and respiratory experience
PCU/telemetry experience would be relevant.
Driver's License REQUIRED at submission
OR license is NOT required at submission — facility can request a 90-day emergency license.
BSN: Not required
