Job Details

• Shift: Days, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Hours: 36 hrs/week
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
• Orientation: Up to 16 hours

• Cancellation: Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract

   

Requirements

• License: Current New Hampshire RN license required
• Certifications: BLS required
• Preferred: Basic Dysrhythmia; CPI training
• Basic Dysrhythmia must be completed prior to orientation completion if not already held
• CPI training must be completed prior to orientation completion if not already held
• Graduate of an approved Nursing program preferred
• Current nursing licensure and department-required certifications must be maintained

Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned hospital unit and carry out provider orders.
• Complete comprehensive clinical documentation, including care plans each shift.
• Communicate patient information through bedside shift report, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding (AIDET).
• Maintain unit-specific competencies and complete required net learning modules.
• Promote patient, visitor, and staff safety by following established procedures and protocols.
• Identify and assist in correcting patient-care safety issues.
• Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles, quality initiatives, and performance improvement activities.
• Monitor and support unit nurse-sensitive indicators including CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, falls, HH, and VAE.
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare team members across departments and specialties.
• Provide culturally competent patient education.
• Serve as a preceptor for new nurses.
• Participate in DNV survey readiness and shared governance activities.
• Delegate care and unit activities appropriately to nursing personnel.
• Collaborate in planning, supervising, and instructing nurses and assistants.
• Work collaboratively with nursing students and instructors.
• Participate in peer feedback and employee engagement processes.
• Promote a positive department culture and hold peers accountable to organizational standards.
• Manage ETO (Earned Time Off) according to policy and avoid unauthorized overtime.
• Complete dysrhythmia course prior to completion of orientation for telemetry-based departments.
• Perform other duties consistent with the role.
• Occupational Health: Enter orders for labs, X-rays, EKGs, or other testing per protocol; access provider in-basket for follow-up; document point-of-care testing after completion.
