Company Job Title: Peds Cardiac Sonographer
If Contract, Length of Assignment: 13 weeks
Shift: 40 hours
Start Date: ASAP
Qualifications:
- Must have 2-5 year's experience (peds cardiac sonography included)
- Must have ARDMS cert
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
To perform and/or assist cardiologists with all cardiac ultrasound procedures done in the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Performs and assists cardiologists with all echocardiograms (2-D, M-Mode, TEE, Fetal).
- Prepares an accurate preliminary echocardiogram report for the cardiologist.
- Maintains an adequate level of supplies in the department.
- Assures that the equipment is in good working order.
- Communicates with appropriate personnel regarding department and exams done.
- Assists the cardiologists as needed.
- Participates in departmental and hospital wide Process Improvement.
- Ensures that generic/unit safety measures are met in the department.
- Travels to out of town clinics as needed.
- Rotates 24 hour on call duties.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
- Registered Sonographer through ARDMS, or graduate of an approved sonography or cardiovascular technology program with an associate’s degree or equivalent.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS or RCCS), or registry eligible.
- If registry eligible, the applicable credential must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
