ER / Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Details:

• Position: ER / Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: 3 × 12-hour shifts
• Shift Timing: Night Shift
• Charting System: Cerner
• Float Requirement: This position will work in both the Acute Care and Emergency Room departments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in the ER and Acute Care settings.
• Assess patients, prioritize care, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered while monitoring patient responses.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Manage patients with varying levels of acuity in both emergency and acute care environments.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and patient-safety standards.
• Accurately document patient care and clinical information using Cerner.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and other patient-care processes as required.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
• Float between the ER and Acute Care departments based on staffing and operational needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for the position/location.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Willingness and ability to work in both ER and Acute Care/Med-Surg settings.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
