Shift Matrix: Night Shift | 19:00 – 07:30 (3x12-Hour Shifts)

• Schedule Quality: 36 hours per week. Every-other-weekend (EOW) and every-other-holiday (EOH) rotation required. No day shift available (mid-shift 15:00–03:00 available under Order ASC-44633).
• On-Call Requirement: No call.

• Float Requirement: Candidate must agree to float onsite within clinical scope or float to affiliate Ascension facilities within a 40-mile travel radius as needed.

  Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

🚫 Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Departmental Hardstops:

• Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered Wisconsin State RN License or active eNLC Compact RN License held in hand at submission.
• Experience Baseline: Strict experience threshold — minimum 3+ years of ED experience with previous travel experience, OR >5 years of high-volume ED experience for first-time travelers.
• EHR Proficiency: Mandatory Epic EMR experience.
• Mandatory Certifications: Active AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and TNCC / NIHSS (preferred per trauma designation).
• Float Radius Commitment: Candidate must explicitly agree to the 40-mile regional float radius policy across Ascension Wisconsin facilities.

Job Summary & Clinical Scope

A Hospital in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a seasoned, high-acuity Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN ER) for a 13-week night assignment in the Emergency Dept - Trauma 4 001 (Department 12190). Operating within a prominent urban hospital along Lake Michigan, the RN will direct emergency care and stabilization for acute adult and pediatric populations presenting to a designated trauma center.

• Emergency Triage & Acuity Management: Rapidly assess presenting patients, assign ESI acuity levels, initiate emergency protocols, and prioritize interventions for high-acuity medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies.
• Resuscitation & Advanced Interventions: Lead bedside nursing support during cardiac arrests, respiratory failure, stroke protocols, and trauma activations; assist with emergency intubations, chest tube insertions, and invasive arterial/central line monitoring.
• Pharmacotherapy & Telemetry: Administer continuous IV vasoactive drips, antiarrhythmics, thrombolytics, and sedatives; execute continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and advanced dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Interdisciplinary Triage & Handoffs: Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, mid-level providers, trauma surgery, and inpatient ICUs for rapid disposition and patient transfers.
