RN – Cardiac Stepdown / Stepdown Float

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac/Stepdown Float team in an acute-care setting. This position is ideal for a clinically strong RN with Stepdown or Progressive Care experience who is comfortable caring for higher-acuity cardiac patients and adapting to different unit needs.

• Shift Time: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Orientation: 12 hours

Requirements

• Minimum Experience: 2 years
• BSN: Not required
• License: Active RN license; license accepted for submission
• BLS – AHA: Required
• ACLS – AHA: Required
• Previous Stepdown, PCU, Cardiac Stepdown, or comparable acute-care experience preferred
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute Stepdown and cardiac patients.
• Monitor patients closely for changes in cardiac and clinical status.
• Perform assessments, administer medications, and implement individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Adapt to varying patient assignments and unit needs as part of the Stepdown Float team.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced Stepdown/Cardiac RN with at least 2 years of acute-care experience who is comfortable working night shifts, caring for higher-acuity patients, and supporting multiple Stepdown environments as part of a float team.
