Description

A hospital-based anesthesiology program in Syracuse, New York, is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for ongoing coverage beginning in December 2026.

 

This position offers 10-hour day shifts with no call and no weekend requirements. The CRNA will provide anesthesia coverage across hospital operating rooms, an endoscopy unit, a cardiac lab, and an ambulatory surgery center.

 

Assignment Highlights

 

• Ongoing assignment beginning in December 2026

• Anticipated coverage through June 2027

• 10-hour day shifts

• Shift time: 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• No call

• No weekend requirements

• Hospital operating room, endoscopy, cardiac lab, and ambulatory surgery center coverage

• Adult, geriatric, and patients age 16 and older

• Epic EMR

• Level II trauma environment

• Travel reimbursement available

• Locum, locum-to-permanent, and permanent candidates may be considered

 

Practice Environment

 

• 15 main operating rooms

• Four ambulatory surgery center operating rooms

• Anesthesiologist supervision

• Standard supervision ratio of 1:4

• Cardiac supervision ratio of 1:2

• CRNAs must be able to function independently within the supervision model

• Scrub technicians, RN circulators, and anesthesia technicians are available

• One CRNA is assigned in-house for evening, night, and weekend coverage

 

Clinical Requirements

 

• Current NBCRNA certification

• Active New York CRNA license

• Ability to provide anesthesia services across multiple procedural settings

• Ability to function independently within a medically supervised practice model

• Ability to complete facility credentialing

• Regional blocks are not required

 

Schedule

 

The standard schedule consists of 10-hour daytime shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. No call or weekend coverage is required.

 

Overtime applies only when the CRNA works beyond the scheduled daily shift ending at 5:30 p.m. It is not based solely on exceeding 40 hours in a week.

 

Travel

 

Approved travel expenses are reimbursed according to the assignment’s travel policy.

 

Additional Information

 

The facility may consider locum, locum-to-permanent, and permanent candidates. Application and credentialing fees are not reimbursed.
