🔥 NIGHT-SHIFT NEONATAL ICU (NICU) RN CONTRACT – LEVEL II & SPECIAL CARE NURSERY

An immediate 13-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Chandler, Arizona (Greater Phoenix / East Valley area). Operating within a specialized 30-bed perinatal service line (12 private-room Level II NICU beds and 18 Special Care Nursery pod beds), this position features a stable 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). NO FLOATING OUTSIDE THE NICU! NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! The unit cares for infants 28 weeks gestation and above presenting with complex respiratory, metabolic, and neonatal complications. 💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

• Weekly Gross: $2,345.00
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,625.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr (36 regular hours)
• Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Self-scheduling available (balanced by unit leadership).
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• On-Call Requirements: NO MANDATORY ON-CALL REQUIRED! (Voluntary on-call available per departmental needs at $7.00/hr).
• Weekend & Holiday Coverage: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period (Fri, Sat, Sun count toward night shift weekends); integrated into holiday rotation.
• Unit Acuity & Staffing Ratios:
  • NICU: 1:2 ratio (12 private rooms).
  • Special Care Nursery (SCN): 1:3 ratio (18 pod beds).
  • 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs), in-house Neonatologists on days, and dedicated 24/7 Respiratory Therapists managing ventilators. Total care nursing model (no unit aides).
• Floating Scope: Travelers will not be floated out of the neonatal service line. May float between on-site NICU/SCN and affiliated regional sister NICU approximately 7 miles away as needed.
• Clinical Scope & Patient Population: Caring for neonates 28+ weeks gestation with RDS, meconium aspiration, PPHN, IUGR, TTN, chorioamnionitis, sepsis, hyperbilirubinemia, and NAS.
• Specialized Procedures & Devices: Vents (Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger), CPAP, RAM/Vapotherm high-flow cannulas, UAC/UVC line care, PICC lines, chest tubes, passive cooling, exchange transfusions, and blood product administration.
• EMR System & Uniform: Cerner; Scrub color is Navy Blue.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care Level II or Level III NICU clinical experience (must be recent within the last 6 months).
• Licensure: Active Arizona RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
• Certifications Required:
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • STABLE certification is preferred.
• Orientation Competency Requirement: Pass/Fail Simulation Lab assessment (Foley catheter insertion competency) conducted on Day 1 of hospital orientation (study guides provided prior to start).
