Description

Schedule: 12 Hr Nights, Every other weekend required

Required:

2 years of nursing experience
Graduate of a recognized and accredited Registered Nurse program
Licensed RN able to practice in the State of MS
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E
Fetal Heart Monitor Course
Troubleshooting Labor and Delivery Equipment
Telemetry Fetal Monitoring
Fetal Scalp Electrode Use
Intrauterine Pressure Catheter Use
EMR: Epic experience required
Timekeeping: Kronos
Scrubs: Galaxy Blue
Level 1
10-17 deliveries/month
No PTO or scheduling restrictions

Responsibilites

Must demonstrate technical aptitude with Labor & Delivery equipment including fetal monitors, telemetry fetal monitoring, fetal scalp electrodes, intrauterine pressure catheter, epidural pumps, radiant warmers, delivery lights, and patient IV infusion pumps
Must demonstrate critical thinking in emergent situations involving maternal and fetal complications during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods
Must anticipate physician and anesthesia needs during emergencies
Must recognize and intervene in delivery complications including shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, and hypertensive crisis
Must safely position laboring patients and assist with vacuum extractor or forceps
Must safely reposition patients under epidural anesthesia
Must provide safe care to the mother/infant couplet and recognize compromised newborns
Must obtain appropriate assistance and perform emergency interventions for newborns
Must practice and educate on the ten steps to successful breastfeeding
