OR RN – Job Details

Position: Operating Room RN (OR RN)
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekends: Required
Holidays: Required
Call: Required

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current New York State RN license
• BLS: Required
• ACLS: Preferred
• OR/ASU clinical experience and knowledge preferred

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of nursing principles and patient-care standards
• Assess and address patients' clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs
• Maintain a safe and aseptic environment in the OR/ASU setting
• Knowledge of typical clinical equipment and instrumentation used in the OR
• Recognize and address patient and staff safety concerns
• Properly assess and use patient lifts and safe patient-handling techniques
• Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
