Outpatient therapy facility located across the parking lot from NL Blue Hill Hospital

Unit Information: 

• Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year minimum, must be outpatient experience
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
  • Mostly adults, school aged children (non-pediatric development dx.)
  • Post-ortho, post-spinal surgeries, geriatrics, work injuries, neurological imbalance. Serving a rural community, so could be anything general requiring PT.
  • 60-minute bookings for evaluations and treatments. Practice single patient care.
• Required License, National Certification, Certs:
  • BLS
  • Will take Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Maine PT license
• Skills required:
  • Experience with above patients
  • Manual therapy, exercise science, providing education to patients, providing education on adaptive equipment like walkers/canes/crutches, etc.
• Support within the Department:
  • 3 total PT
  • 1 PSRs
  • At least 1 assistant supervisor available (not always on site)
  • Manager available via phone
• Technology/Equipment:
  • EMR: Cerner PowerChart
• Floating: If yes, where?
  • No
• Orientation (facility and unit):
  • NEO
  • Remainder of 1st week to 1.5 weeks will be orienting. Will be partnered with staff member and increase patient load as the week continues
• Scheduling:
  • Weekend rotation: No
  • On call? No
  • Holiday Expectations: Closed on major holidays, could work 50% of minor holidays
  • Approval of RTO: to go through manager
  • Shift times: Monday – Thursday, 4 10h shifts, 0700-1730.

  • Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs or business casual.
