Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Laboratory Technician – Generalist
Shift: 8-hour Days | Multiple shift options available
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hrs/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Setting: Acute Care
EMR/LIS: EPIC

This is a Laboratory Manager / Laboratory Services Supervisor-type position, not a regular MLT/MLS bench-only role. The key point is that the person must be able to manage/coordinate laboratory services while also having strong generalist/high-complexity laboratory experience.

• 5 years laboratory experience
• 3 years supervisory or management experience

Must-Haves

• MLT/MLS certification through ASCP or AMT
• WV MLT or MLS license
• Generalist experience required
• Minimum 1 year laboratory experience; experience in a larger/high-throughput laboratory preferred
• Must be able to cover Microbiology + Clinical Laboratory
• Experience with:
  • Hematology
  • Coagulation
  • Chemistry
  • Urinalysis
  • Microbiology
  • Specimen processing
• Phlebotomy is a plus, as techs may assist with morning rounds and overflow
• BLS (AHA) listed as a required certification in the requisition

• Coagulation: CA2500
• Urinalysis: Iris Workcell
• Microbiology: Microscan, Cepheid, Verigene, MDX
• EMR: EPIC
• LIS examples mentioned: Polytech, Avalon, Orchard, Apollo, Prolis, BioTracer, etc.
