Description
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a Level I Trauma Center OR.
- Scrub for surgical procedures; OR RN scrubbing is required.
- Assist with a variety of surgical cases, including:
- Orthopedic
- Neurological
- General surgery
- Trauma cases
- Prepare the operating room, surgical equipment, and supplies before procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control protocols.
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team throughout procedures.
- Monitor patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, OR techs, and other perioperative personnel.
- Accurately document patient care and surgical information in EPIC.
- Follow hospital safety, surgical, and patient-care policies.
- Participate in unit orientation and facility-specific training.
- Maintain flexibility and teamwork in a high-acuity trauma OR environment.
Requirements
Active RN license required
BLS – AHA required
ACLS – AHA required
OR nursing experience required
Trauma experience required
Scrubbing experience required for RNs
Experience with Orthopedic, Neuro, General, and Trauma cases.
EPIC experience preferred.
Must be comfortable working in a Level I Trauma Center.
Must submit a driver's license at submission.
60-mile radius rule applies.
Must be in-state during the week of orientation, even if initial orientation modules are completed remotely.
Must pass MedSol clinical profile review and a facility Unit Manager interview.
Must work 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, Tuesday–Thursday.
36 guaranteed hours/week.
13-week / 91-day contract.
No regular floating requirement.
No regular weekday/weeknight call requirement.
Weekend shifts, when scheduled, are 7:00 AM–7:00 PM Friday–Sunday.
Holiday work is required if the holiday falls on the clinician's scheduled weekend day.
If called in, 30-minute response time applies.
Scrubs are provided by the facility.
Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
