OR RN – Job Breakdown

Position: Operating Room RN
Setting: Acute Care
Trauma Level: Level II
Contract: 13 weeks / 91 days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Shift

• Days: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• 12-hour shifts
• Days may vary
• Other possible OR shifts listed:
  • 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM–9:30 PM
  • 9:00 PM–7:00 AM

Call Requirement

⚠️ Call is required

• Approximately 120 hours of call per contract
• Call is rotated with staff
• Applies to weeknights/weekends as scheduled
• 30-minute call response time
• Holiday call may be required; July 4th preferred depending on contract

Must-Have Requirements

• Trauma experience – REQUIRED
• Neuro experience – REQUIRED
• OR experience
• Scrubbing experience – REQUIRED
• BLS (AHA)
• Active license

⚠️ Trauma + Neuro experience are specifically stated as MUST HAVE.

OR Details

• 16 OR suites
• Approximately 30 cases/day
• OR techs: 2 per shift
• Charge nurse/house supervisor available
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• RN does not have to be charge nurse

• Robotics

EMR

• Epic

Floating

Only in an extreme staffing need, the RN may be asked to float within Zone 1, including:

• PEN
• SFH
• SFI
• SMC
• STMS

Radius Requirement

⚠️ 60-mile radius rule

• Candidate must be outside the 60-mile radius
• Driver's license must be submitted

Orientation

• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Candidate must be in the state during orientation week, even if the first-day modules are remote.

Hiring Process

Cancellation

Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
