Job Summary

Responsible for diagnostic cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures, providing accurate images and measurements for physician diagnosis. Provides immediate feedback on critical findings and assists physicians with complex procedures in the OR, Hybrid Lab, Cath Lab, and CAD, including TAVR, SAVR, TandemHeart, LARIAT procedures, and pseudoaneurysm compression.

Required Qualifications

• 6 months of related experience
• Ability to work independently
• Critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication with surgeons, physicians, and healthcare staff regarding cardiac ultrasound results
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation after regular business hours
• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS
• One of the following:
  • RDCS or RVT from ARDMS
  • RCS or RVS from CCI

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or Cardiac Ultrasound certification program
• No preferred certification/licensure specified

Key Responsibilities

• Perform adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures, including TEE and stress echo.
• Perform peripheral vascular procedures, including arterial, renal, and transcranial Doppler studies.
• Operate required ultrasound equipment and utilize appropriate transducers and digital networking systems.
• Review patient information before procedures.
• Identify and communicate abnormal and critical results to physicians.
• Assist physicians during complex cardiac procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient, procedural, and departmental documentation.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities.
• Maintain current competency and required registry credentials.
• Follow infection control, safety, confidentiality, and hospital policies.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
