Medical Telemetry / IMC RN | Maine Medical Center

Portland, Maine | Bean 5 | Days & nights | 36 guaranteed hours

Join a 43-bed unit caring for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, and other acute medical conditions. Bean 5 blends medical telemetry and intermediate care, with ventilators, BiPAP and CPAP among the equipment used for IMC patients.

What to expect

• Ratios: Med-Surg/Tele is 1:4–5 on days and 1:5–6 on nights; IMC is 1:3 on both shifts.
• Schedule: Every other weekend. Holidays are assigned as needed. No call.
• Floating: IMC nurses may float to another IMC unit or to Med-Surg. Med-Surg nurses may float to a similar level of care, based on unit needs and skills.
• Charting: Epic.

Requirements: At least 1–2 years of experience, BLS, tracheostomy experience, and the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips. IMC candidates must also have ventilator experience.
