Position: Medical Lab Technician (MLT)
Location: Oelwein, IA
Contract: 13 weeks, with possibility of extension
Schedule: Weekend Package

• Friday: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
• Saturday: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
• Sunday: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Weekend package may include holidays

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and analysis on blood, urine, and other clinical specimens.
• Collect, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing according to established procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Perform quality control procedures and ensure accuracy of test results.
• Review and report laboratory results accurately and promptly.
• Identify abnormal or critical results and follow appropriate notification procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.

Requirements

• BLS required
• ASCP or AMT certification required
• Previous Medical Laboratory Technician experience.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen processing, and quality control.
• Epic experience preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Must be available for the specified weekend package schedule and potentially holidays.
• 13-week commitment required, with possibility of extension.
