Position: RN – Med/Surg Float Pool
Shift: 12H Days
Schedule: Days + EOW
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hrs/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Trauma Level: Level II
EMR: Cerner → transitioning to EPIC in Nov 2026

License to Submit: Yes

🚨 Key Requirements

• Large hospital experience required
• Current/recent Med/Surg experience
• BLS – AHA or ARC
• Must be comfortable with a 6:1 patient ratio
• 48-hour guarantee only
• First to float

Float Pool

RN will float between:

• Med/Onc
• 2 Surgical units
• 2 Medical units

May be assigned to any Med/Surg pod based on hospital needs.

Patient Population

Surgical:

• Colorectal
• Hepatobiliary
• Bariatric
• General surgery
• Orthopedics

Medical:

• Diabetes
• Heart disease
• COPD
• Kidney conditions
• GI conditions

Unit Details

• 128-bed Med/Surg unit
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Total-care environment
• No PCAs on the unit
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Occasional rhythm-strip interpretation
• No routine drip titration
• Respiratory therapy readily available
• Charge nurse takes a patient assignment
• 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation

Schedule & Other Details

• Start dates only: 10/12 or 10/26
• Direct manager interview
• Every other weekend
• No holiday requirement
• No call/standby
• Navy scrubs
• Hospital assigns staff based on need
• First to float
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
