Description
Position Details
- Schedule: Variable shifts, 4×10s, Monday–Friday
- Shift Options: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–7:00 PM
- Schedule: Rotating weekday shifts
- Call: 1–2 nights per week
- Weekend Call: 1 weekend per month
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- OR Experience: Circulating experience required
- Charting: EPIC experience required
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) or equivalent required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- At least 2 years of recent nursing/OR experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS certification
- CNOR certification
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the circulating RN during surgical procedures.
- Apply and maintain principles of aseptic technique.
- Safely operate equipment routinely used in the Operating Room.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including safe and appropriate positioning.
- Perform pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient assessments and care planning.
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials.
- Access and utilize facility information systems to support patient care.
- Maintain patient safety and follow emergency preparedness, hazardous materials, life safety, and medical equipment protocols.
- Verify tissue/allograft package integrity, document temperatures, deliver items to the sterile field, and maintain required documentation.
- Complete appropriate unit responsibilities and documentation during downtime.
Ideal Candidate: An experienced OR RN who is confident circulating, has strong surgical nursing skills, is comfortable with EPIC, and is available for rotating call requirements.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
