LPN – Emergency Department (ER) Breakdown

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Specialty: ER / ED – REQUIRED
Shift: Nights – 3 × 12-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks / 91 days

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State LPN license – REQUIRED
• Minimum 1 year of experience – REQUIRED
• ER/ED experience – REQUIRED
• Must be able to start IVs
• Must be able to perform phlebotomy
• CPR certification/re-certification required
• Inpatient/acute-care experience preferred

Schedule

• 3 × 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• Some holidays required

Main Duties

• Provide patient care in an acute-care/ER setting
• Take and document vital signs
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures
• Administer injections
• Assist with patient treatments
• Observe and report patient responses
• Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
• Assist with nursing unit management
• Work under the direction of the primary/associate nurse
• Use Electronic Medical Records
