Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health
Location: Mason City, IA
Contract: 13 weeks, with possibility of extension
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)
 

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in a behavioral health setting.
• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral conditions and monitor changes in status.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor patients for changes in mood, behavior, and overall condition.
• Implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation as appropriate.
• Provide patient education and support related to treatment plans and medications.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control standards.

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible to practice in Iowa.
• Previous Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and crisis-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing a variety of behavioral health conditions.
• Must be available for 7:00 PM–7:30 AM shifts.
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• 13-week commitment required, with possibility of extension.
