Simplified ED RN Travel Job

Position: RN – Emergency Department
Shift: Nights — 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
Contract: 89 weeks
First-Time Travelers: No
Experience: 2+ years
Patient Ratio: 1:5 on nights
On-Call: No

Facility & Unit

Facility: 123-bed hospital
Trauma: Level III
Primary Stroke Center
ED Beds: 14
Location: Burlington, WI
Charting: EPIC preferred
Patient Population: Neonates through geriatrics
Approximately 1% pediatric patients
Free parking
Scrub color: Any

Patient Types

Chest pain
Abdominal pain
Stroke/neurological emergencies
STEMI/cardiac cases
Trauma
AMI patients requiring air transport
Psychiatric patients

Staffing & Support

RN ratio: 1:4 days / 1:5 nights
Tech ratio: approximately 1:10
Charge RN carries a mostly full patient load
Phlebotomy support available
Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
Hospitalist: 24/7
Midlevel coverage: 10 AM–10 PM
No floating expected

Schedule & Other Details

Weekend rotation: Every 3rd weekend
Holiday coverage: Every other holiday
Time off: Up to 7 days can be approved; more requires manager approval
Orientation: 1 day hospital + 1 day unit
COVID vaccine: Required per AAH
No NICU
